Bluetail supported browsers

Effective as of June 18, 2026

Supported Browsers

Bluetail is a web application and works in any modern, up-to-date desktop browser — including recent versions of Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari. We don’t pin to specific version numbers; if your browser auto-updates and you’re within a release or two of current, you’re good.

Requirements

For Bluetail to work correctly, your browser needs:

  • JavaScript enabled. The entire application runs as a JavaScript single-page app.
  • Local storage available. We use it to keep you signed in and to cache UI state. Private/incognito modes and aggressive privacy extensions that block local storage will prevent Bluetail from loading.
  • A modern PDF rendering engine. Bluetail displays aircraft records as PDFs in the browser. Browsers older than ~2 years may not support the rendering features our PDF viewer relies on.

Screen Size

Bluetail is designed for a minimum screen size of 1366 × 1024 — the landscape resolution of a 12.9″ iPad Pro, which is our reference device for reviewing aircraft records. It will work on smaller displays, but you may need to scroll more or collapse panels to fit everything.

Operating Systems

Bluetail runs on Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, iPadOS — anywhere a current browser runs. Keep your OS patched for security.
