Get on the Glide Path to Safety Certification
Michelin Stars, the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval, and Condé Nast Traveler: If you’re looking for the best products, restaurants, or hotels, you look for these marks. Each is synonymous with providing a product or service that is of the highest quality.
Discerning customers who want the best in on-demand aircraft charter or jet card service – and who doesn’t – look for providers who have earned their proverbial ‘stripes’ from a safety leader like WYVERN. Seeing either of these marks attached to a provider’s operation immediately puts it head-and-shoulders above those who haven’t earned either award.
These awards aren’t given; they’re earned.
Earning a prestigious award like WINGMAN Pro from WYVERN does not come easily. Audits of aircraft, flight crews, and operational procedures are extremely stringent, to say the least. The goal is to “certify” safety after all. And, unless the airplane is right out of the box, pretty much every aspect of verifying an aircraft’s safe operation begins with said aircraft’s maintenance history. Depending on a particular aircraft’s age and operational background, searching through literally thousands of logbook entries, FAA 8130 tags, and countless other documents can take hundreds of manhours.
It’s a tedious and time-consuming task that’s teeming with opportunities for even the most experienced auditor to make mistakes. In an effort to save time and increase the level of the accuracy of their audits, leading safety certification companies cite aircraft records digitization as a key component in efficient safety certification.
Instead of manually reading through countless line entries, an auditor or A&P just types in the various inspection titles, and tasks and all of the details are displayed in order with dates and even signatures.
What’s an auditor for WYVERN not to love? And, while it’s not yet a requirement, the simple fact that you have taken the proactive step in bringing all of your maintenance and operational logs into the 21st century will, no doubt, earn high accolades from the auditing team.
Anyone would rightly assume an operation that takes the extra step to improve its maintenance record keeping must carry that kind of professionalism into all aspects of its flight operations. And whether you’re looking to earn a WYVERN rating or not, that higher level of care can only be a net asset for your flight department.
